MAGNUSSON APPOINTS NEW MANAGING PARTNER IN COPENHAGEN

2013-08-12

Nikolaj Juhl Hansen has been named the managing partner of Magnusson’s Copenhagen office. He succeeds Lars Jørgensen who has led the development of Magnusson in Denmark over the past 2 years.

Nikolaj Juhl Hansen will draw on his experience gained during a 2,5 year tenure as the Senior Office Partner for Eversheds’ Copenhagen office. He joined Magnusson in February 2013 and focuses on M&A, corporate, financial transactions, commercial contracts and project management of legal work abroad, including Asia, Middle East and a wide range of European countries.

Nikolaj Juhl Hansen commented: "I am very excited about taking up my new role at Magnusson in Copenhagen. Lars has managed to create a streamlined business excellently placed to take advantage of the early signs of a recovering economy, and I am looking forward to drive a successful business together with my colleagues across the Baltic Sea Region".

After 2 successful years of leading Magnusson in Copenhagen Lars Jørgensen will now concentrate to a greater extent on legal work: "I am very much looking forward to put even more focus on my clients. With Nikolaj we have acquired someone who can really drive our international business development efforts. I look forward to working with him and feel safe in leaving the management of our Copenhagen operations to him."

"With Lars at the helm, Magnusson has enjoyed continued growth in Denmark. Nikolaj has both impressive legal skills and outstanding management experience to further reinforce our Danish practice on the domestic and international level", commented senior partner Per Magnusson.

During the first half of 2013, Magnusson attracted a number of new partners in Denmark including Jesper Kronborg who specializes in corporate, commercial and M&A, Erik Gravgaard who focuses on corporate, tax and technology, as well as a restructuring and insolvency specialist Steen Klein. The office has also worked on a number of significant deals, including one of the biggest Chinese investments in Denmark to date with HK listed O-Net Communications' joint venture with Danish optics business OPDI Technologies.
