MAGNUSSON EXPANDS TO UKRAINE

2013-10-01

Magnusson is opening its office in Ukraine, with a 10-lawyer strong team in Kiev, effective as of 1st October 2013.

The Kiev based attorneys have previously worked at such professional services firms as Ernst & Young, PwC, Deloitte, Baker & McKenzie, Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev, Schoenherr, and Linklaters. The team is headed by Anton Prysyazhnyuk, who prior to joining Magnusson has successfully developed and managed Ukrainian operations of a leading international law firm.

Clients of the Ukrainian team operate in such industries as private equity, chemical, heavy machinery, energy, food, banking, retail, and real estate. The Kiev attorneys advise on a wide range of legal matters including corporate and M&A, antitrust, banking and finance, tax, litigation, and intellectual property.

With approximately 45 million consumers, Ukraine is a large emerging market on its way to a formal association with the EU. It has strong connections, of both historical and business nature, with the countries where Magnusson is present.

“This move adds a significant value to our cross-introduction capabilities and means new opportunities for both our existing business and new colleagues”, commented Senior Partner Per Magnusson.

“Numerous companies from the Baltic Sea Region countries either invest or have on- going trade relations with Ukraine. At the same time, numerous Ukrainian companies invest in the countries where Magnusson operates. We are very much looking forward to exploring this potential with our new colleagues”, stated Anton Prysyazhnyuk, Managing Partner of Magnusson in Ukraine.
