MAGNUSSON FURTHER REINFORCES ITS CHINA CAPABILITIES
Alexander Schultz joins Magnusson as Senior China Adviser. His past experience includes, among others, working as commercial counsellor at the Danish Embassy in Beijing and as the head of the Danish Trade Council in China.
As a Senior China Adviser to Magnusson, Alexander will mainly work with Chinese companies considering doing business with or investing in the Baltic Sea Region.
A Danish national and able Chinese speaker, he has lived in China for 6 years. During his time in China, he has had direct business relations with more than 100 Chinese and Nordic companies on the market. His work areas include investments in and out of China, and all issues related to online marketing and sales in China.
Among others, from 2007 to 2011 Alexander was a commercial counsellor at the Danish Embassy in Beijing and head of the Danish Trade Council in China. In 2011, Alexander was recruited to establish a Danish law firm Bech-Bruun’s office in China. He left the job in 2012 to pursue his dream of establishing his own company, Shanghai Jungle Ltd., which specializes in solutions for China's online market. Furthermore, from 2001 to 2004 he was deputy head of mission at the Danish Embassy in Lithuania and has direct experience with all the Baltic States, Poland, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
“We are delighted to launch this cooperation and very much look forward to working together with Alexander on attracting Chinese business to the Baltic Sea Region” , said Carl-Fredrik Hedenström, Partner and Head of Magnusson’s China Group.
Magnusson’s China Group continues to advise on numerous high profile projects. 2013 highlights include advice to Denim Group AB on the acquisition of a clothing chain JC in Sweden and advice to the Danish optics technology company OPDI Technologies on the formation of a joint venture with the Hong Kong listed company O-Net Communication. Also in 2013, the team advised China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation (CPECC) in intensive negotiations concerning the potential involvement of CPECC in the construction of a 910 MW power unit in Poland.
