2014-11-28

For the third consecutive year, Magnusson won the coveted European Law Firm of the Year Award at the British Legal Awards. Magnusson is the first law firm ever to win the British Legal Awards, in any category, for three consecutive years.

The Awards ceremony took place on 27th November 2014 with an audience of nearly 1,000 UK and international lawyers assembled at the Old Billingsgate Market in the City of London. The award was accepted by Senior Partner and Founder Per Magnusson, and Mariusz Kowalski, Chief Marketing Officer / Partner.

The British Legal Awards are hosted by Legal Week, a top UK weekly magazine focused on the legal industry. All the major UK and international law firms compete every year for the awards.

The winners were chosen by an independent panel of senior judges, including BAE Systems group general counsel Philip Bramwell, former Clifford Chance managing partner Peter Cornell, BAA general counsel Carol Hui, Rothschild executive vice chairman Sir Anthony Salz, Intel Capital EMEA senior managing counsel Ian Stoodley, Canon Europe legal director Toby Hornett, and EE (Orange/T-Mobile) general counsel & company secretary James Blendis. The judging panel was chaired by Alasdair Douglas, chairman, City of London Law Society. The judges based their decisions on the following criteria: strategic vision, legal expertise, innovation, business winning, client care, employee development, diversity and corporate social responsibility.

Winners in other categories include such firms as, among others, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Allen & Overy, DLA Piper, Latham & Watkins, and Jones Day.
