MAGNUSSON ADVISES DENIM GROUP ON ACQUISITION OF CLOTHING CHAIN JC

2013-11-04

Magnusson represented Denim Group AB in the acquisition of a clothing chain JC, previously owned by RNB.

The company Denim Island Group, based in Guangzhou in China and owned by Mr Gordon Wu, is a leading manufacturer of jeans and denim products. The group also owns the wholesales of a few denim brands which are currently sold on Western European and US markets.

This shows again the enormous interest of Chinese in investing in the Nordic region”, said Carl-Fredrik Hedenström, Partner and Head of Magnusson’s China Group.

The team of lawyers responsible for the transaction was headed by Gustaf Leijonhufvud, with the assistance of Wenpeng Niu, David Nylén, Åsa Persson, Jennie Thingwall, and Christian Johard.

It is another major project handled by Magnusson’s China Group this autumn. The Warsaw team, consisting of Bartosz Dębski and Olav Nemling, has assisted China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation (CPECC) for the last four months during intensive negotiations concerning the potential involvement of CPECC in the construction of a 910 MW power unit at the Jaworzno Power Plant in southern Poland (estimated project value: EUR 1 billion).
