MAGNUSSON EXPANDS ITS OPERATIONS TO OULU
Kirsi and Kaija have extensive experience in business law, and strong knowledge of the business field and the public sector. They are known to many people and companies in Northern Finland. “The Oulu region is developing and growing rapidly and is home to many innovative international companies. Long-term customer relationships with companies in different fields and public sector entities have provided us with strong experience and competence. We are very happy to have this opportunity to join the Magnusson growth story and to be able to offer our expertise in Northern Finland”, Kirsi Putkonen and Kaija Pulkkinen say.
Kirsi Putkonen will start as the head of the Oulu office. She has strong experience in international business law, and especially corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and of various agreements both within Finland and internationally. Kaija Pulkkinen, who starts as another partner, also has extensive experience in international business law, with a special emphasis on labour law, corporate restructuring, public sector rearrangements and public procurement.
“We are strengthening our team with top-level experts. Magnusson is one of the few truly international law firms present in Finland and very experienced in cross-border transactions. From the perspective of organic growth, opening an office in Oulu is a strategic decision for us, by which we are investing in the competence areas of labour law, contract law, technology law and corporate restructuring. We have tripled our turnover since 2011. Growth is not achieved by just increasing the number of personnel; it requires long-term development work on customer relationships. Our operating model, which clients have praised, is based on teamwork in which partners take responsibility for the high quality of assignments with the lawyers. The client can see this in cost-effective invoicing based on fast specialist work. We’re going to start developing the Oulu office using this approach”, says Tomi Merenheimo, Attorney-at-law and Managing Partner of Magnusson Finland.
In Finland Magnusson has offices in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere and now in Oulu. The Finnish team consist of approximately 40 lawyers. Magnusson also has Chinese, Arabic, and Russian-speaking lawyers based in Helsinki. In addition to Finland, Magnusson has offices in Sweden, Denmark, Poland, the Baltic Countries and Russia, as well as strong connections with business partners all over the world. In total, Magnusson has more than 200 lawyers.
