MAGNUSSON HIRES NEW PARTNER TO HEAD DISPUTE RESOLUTION PRACTICE IN POLAND

2016-04-26

Magnusson strengthens its dispute resolution practice with the arrival of Daniel Klementewicz, who joins as partner and head of the dispute resolution practice in Poland.

Daniel Klementewicz is an attorney-at-law admitted to the Warsaw Bar (pl. adwokat). His main practice areas include litigation and arbitration, as well as corporate/M&A transactions. He joined from Wolf Theiss, and his past experience includes work for Beiten Burkhardt and several other law firms in Warsaw.

Daniel advises both international and domestic clients in Poland and in the CEE region on various litigation, arbitration, and insolvency matters. He has been particularly active in representing institutional and private investors in court and arbitration matters related to their Polish and regional investments, including post-mergers and acquisitions disputes, as well as shareholder disputes.

Daniel’s practice also includes representation of international commercial real estate banks in matters related to the enforcement of non-performing loans. Additionally, he has been active in sports arbitration and, on numerous occasions, has been appointed arbitrator.

As part of his corporate M&A practice, Daniel advises international clients from a wide range of industries on their transactions including M&A, corporate reorganization, squeeze-out, restructuring, and divestment.

Daniel’s arrival is yet another step in Magnusson steady expansion of its regional dispute resolution and arbitration practice group, after Christer Söderlund, premier arbitration expert, joined the firm from Vinge earlier this year. In 2015, Magnusson welcomed the new head of the international arbitration practice, and experienced court litigator and arbitration counsel, partner Paulo Fohlin.

Magnusson’s dispute resolution practice in Poland is regularly recommended by independent benchmarking publication The Legal 500 EMEA, which is also the case in the 2016 edition.
