MAGNUSSON GROWS SIGNIFICANTLY IN FINLAND

Over the past few months Magnusson has added a number of high profile lawyers to its team in Finland.

Juha Pöllänen has been appointed as a Senior Counsel, Head of Banking & Finance. Prior to joining Magnusson Juha was a deal manager in Nordea SME acquisition finance team. He has also worked as an advisor and chief legal counsel in Nordea Corporate Finance and lawyer in legal and legal collection departments. Before that he worked at Suomen Säästöpankki SSP Oy, Omaisuudenhoitoyhtiö Arsenal Oy and YIT Group. Juha specializes in Banking & Finance, Corporate & M&A, Restructuring and Insolvency and Dispute Resolution. He has a LL.M. degree and he has been Trained on the Bench.

Aarni Oksanen has been appointed as a Senior Associate. He is a former manager at PwC and KPMG, specializing in Financial Services industry, Corporate & M&A, Banking & Finance, taxation and company law, as well as complicated accounting issues related to public interest and other entities. Aarni holds a LL.M. and M.Sc. (Econ.) degrees and is Authorized Public Accountant.

Magnusson has for several years been carefully looking for a right way and timing to grow in Finland, and in tandem with this drive Magnusson and Attorneys-at-law Ylikraka merged effective as of 1 January 2017. Ylikraka’s extensive know-how in Restructuring and Insolvency, together with other core legal areas, including Corporate & M&A, Banking & Finance and Real Estate, adds a new dimension to Magnusson’s offering, not only in Finland, but also internationally. Juha and Aarni will work closely with Magnusson’s insolvency team, headed by Kristiina Kaarte and Pertti Ylikraka, and the M&A team, headed by Heikki Wide and Tomi Merenheimo.
