MAGNUSSON FURTHER STRENGTHENS ITS BANKING AND FINANCE TEAM

Magnusson enhances its banking and finance practice with arrival of Peter Billinger who joins the Stockholm office as Senior Counsel.

Peter Billinger has more than 18 years of experience in the banking and finance sector, mostly in the regulatory matters. He joins from Acta Finans where he was a compliance officer. His experience includes working for such institutions as the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority and the Nordic Growth Market Exchange, as head of surveillance.

“Over the past 24 months, Magnusson has seen continued growth in the banking and finance area and in particular within regulatory. Peter has an excellent reputation with regulatory affairs and we are delighted to welcome such high profile expert to our growing team” comments partner Björn Wendleby, head of the banking and finance practice.

Peter holds a law degree from the Stockholm University. He also graduated from the Police Academy and has worked afterwards in the National Police’s unit combating economic crime.

The arrival of Peter Billinger lends credence to the dynamic growth of Magnusson’s banking and finance practice. Key hires in the past 12 months include in particular leading Swedish experts Miri Chiko-Radomski and Liselotte Calander, as well as Henry Hiljander and Patryk Laskorzyński in Helsinki and Warsaw respectively.

Magnusson’s banking and finance practice is on a regular basis recognized by independent benchmarking publications. Legal 500 EMEA in its newly released 2012 edition recommends Magnusson in banking and finance in Sweden and Poland and lists Björn Wendleby, Liselotte Calander and Miri-Chiko Radomski.
