Dispute resolution

Magnusson’s dispute resolution team handles a wide range of dispute related matters.

The team can help its clients in for example dialogues with courts and administrative authorities. Magnusson also acts as counsel in ad hoc arbitration proceedings, as well as institutional arbitrations conducted under various institutional rules, such as, to mention only a few, the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). Magnusson’s International Arbitration group focuses on cross-border and other international disputes. In addition, Magnusson acts in settlement negotiations, mediations and other types of alternative dispute resolution and dispute avoidance.

Magnusson’s dispute resolution lawyers also help negotiating and drafting forum selection clauses and other types of dispute resolution clauses in commercial contracts. The team can help managing risks involved in disputes in other ways as well. It is often helpful to clients to seek advice at an early stage of a potential dispute, whereupon Magnusson is able to recommend out-of-court actions and correspondence that may improve the client’s position in any subsequent court proceedings or arbitral proceedings.
