Magnusson advised Saint-Gobain Eesti on the sale of Baltiklaas to Barrus

Saint-Gobain Eesti, member of the worldwide leader in light and sustainable construction Saint-Gobain Group, divested its flat glass processing business Baltiklaas to Barrus, the largest glued laminated timber manufacturer in Estonia. Baltiklaas employs more than 200 people across two sites located in Tartu and Mäo.

Magnusson acted as legal adviser to Saint-Gobain Eesti on the sale of the business of its subsidiary Baltiklaas. The scope of legal work throughout the sale process included carrying out the due diligence process involving multiple bidders, advising on the deal arrangements, leading negotiations with the potential acquirers, drafting of the transaction documentation and advising the client on strategic as well as contractual matters.

Magnusson team was led by of counsel attorney Priit Pahapill with the assistance of associates Linda Merileid Tilk and Ketlin Peterson, senior associate Mait Valberg and compliance officer Lev Goffert.

The sale of Baltiklaas’ business is part of Saint-Gobain’s continued business profile optimization strategy, in line with the “Grow & Impact” plan objectives.

The transaction received the approval of the Estonian Competition Authority and was completed on February 28th.
