Ulf Djurberg

Since 1996 Ulf has been a member of the Swedish Bar Association. Before joining Magnusson in 2022, he was Head of the EU & Competition Law Group at another major Swedish law firm. Ulf has been advising Swedish and foreign companies and organisations for over 25 years in respect to the areas of EU and competition law, public procurement, infrastructure, state aid and with public sector contracts. Ulf also has considerable experience of advising on matters regarding merger control, anti-corruption and special investigations. He has represented clients in proceedings in both national courts and the European Court of Justice, including acting on the well-known Gourmet case.

In respect to competition law and merger control matters, Ulf has had extensive contact with the EU Commission and many other European and international competition authorities. On the anti-corruption side, he has carried out several major surveys and so-called “self-cleaning” court proceedings in both Sweden and other countries. Within procurement, Ulf has assisted clients with strategic advice as well as implementation “from beginning to end” of some of the largest procurement processes in Sweden.

Ulf also has a particular interest in social development projects and he has participated in public inquiries into high-speed trains, electrified high-way lines and Hyperloop transports in Sweden and Finland.
